Ikebana Infused
Whimsically Designed
A little about me
Born and raised in California, I draw from a bicultural heritage. My mother is Japanese, with roots in Hawaii, and my father is from Idaho. This dual influence shaped my perspective early on, teaching me to balance the minimalism and philosophy of Japanese aesthetics with Western structure and design. Today, my work brings these traditions together into a cohesive, contemporary floral practice.
My fascination with balance, form and natural beauty began at a young age and continues to guide my artistic development. I am currently completing my fifth year of Sogetsu Ikebanatraining under Sensei Hazue Tamura-Stein, with the goal of achieving instructor (Sensei) certification by the end of 2026. I am also pursuing a Floral Design Certificate form the New York Botanical Garden, further expanding my technical and creative range.
In addition to my studies, I serve on the boards of two Ikebana organizations in New York City. I am Historian for Ikebana International, NYC Chapter and Workshop Chair forSogestu. These roles allow me to contribute to the preservation and evolution on Ikebana while engaging with a vibrant artistic community. I also collaborate with select clients on high-level Ikebana installations and private events.
I offer intimate floral workshops, private commissions and large-scale installations across Ikebana, bouquet design and mixed media floral art. For inquiries, please use the contact form below to explore collaborations or upcoming classes.
